Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on diverse patient populations
- Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment including automated analyzers
- Implement strict infection control protocols and specimen handling procedures
- Train and supervise phlebotomy interns and new technicians
- Conduct quality assurance audits and troubleshoot technical issues
- Collaborate with physicians on specialized blood draw protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Current Kentucky Phlebotomy Technician certification (PBT)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Certification in advanced venipuncture techniques preferred
- Experience with LIS/HIS systems and digital documentation
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Exceptional patient communication and crisis management skills
