Responsibilities
- Perform advanced venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Operate automated blood collection systems and point-of-care testing equipment
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and specimen tracking documentation
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and procedure protocols
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to ensure timely specimen transport and analysis
- Implement infection control protocols and maintain sterile collection environments
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital or diagnostic setting
- Current ASCP or AMT Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-vein collections
- BLS/CPR certification with current credentials
- Familiarity with LIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and point-of-care devices
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume, fast-paced environments
- Must pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
