Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures with exceptional precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to strict protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Train junior staff on phlebotomy techniques and safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA regulations
- Operate advanced diagnostic equipment including automated analyzers
- Collaborate with physicians and lab scientists on complex cases
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture
- Proficiency with LIS/HIS systems and electronic documentation
- BLS/CPR certification
- Strong communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
