Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Monitor and remind clients to take prescribed medications on schedule.
- Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversation and activities to combat loneliness and improve mental well-being.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, client-appropriate meals according to dietary restrictions.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment for the client.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, or grocery shopping.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or emotional condition to the supervising nurse or case manager.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma: or GED equivalent required.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Certifications: Current CNA, HHA, or PCA certification is highly preferred but not mandatory if willing to obtain.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping the elderly and vulnerable populations.
