Responsibilities
- Perform precise venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures adhering to OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and handle specimens with meticulous attention to detail and chain-of-custody protocols
- Operate advanced diagnostic equipment including automated analyzers and centrifuges
- Deliver exceptional patient experience with compassionate communication and anxiety-reduction techniques
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and specimen tracking systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize laboratory workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT1 or CPT2)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in high-volume laboratory settings
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal date
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-access venipuncture
- Familiarity with LIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and laboratory automation
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to de-escalate anxious patients
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
