Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection with precision and patient comfort focus
- Process and transport specimens following CLIA and OSHA protocols
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain equipment calibration
- Document patient data accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Train junior phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Collaborate with laboratory team on quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certification from ASCP, AMT, or NHA required
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification
- Expertise in pediatric and geriatric blood collection techniques
- Familiarity with LIS systems (Epic, Cerner preferred)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations
