Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Process and analyze specimens with 99.8% accuracy using advanced lab equipment
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
- Train junior technicians on phlebotomy best practices and new technologies
- Collaborate with physicians and lab scientists on specialized testing procedures
- Manage inventory and quality assurance for laboratory supplies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital or diagnostic lab
- Certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent) required
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-venipuncture techniques
- Proficiency with LIS/HIS systems and automated analyzers
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Valid North Carolina phlebotomy license
- Basic EKG certification preferred
