Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on adults, adolescents, and pediatric patients with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Ensure strict adherence to hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience.
- Assist with specimen processing, labeling, and transport to the laboratory.
- Maintain inventory levels of phlebotomy supplies and report shortages promptly.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (e.g., ASCP, ASPT, NCPT) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move patients or equipment as needed.
