Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collections with exceptional precision
- Process and transport specimens following CLIA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Train junior phlebotomists on advanced techniques and safety protocols
- Implement quality control measures for specimen integrity
- Collaborate with physicians and lab staff on specialized collection protocols
Qualifications
- 3+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience in high-volume settings
- Certification from ASCP, AMT, or equivalent
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture access
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field
