Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance providers with 98%+ accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage details
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services correctly
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial review
- Utilize Epic EHR and NextGen billing systems efficiently
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or CPC credential
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen preferred)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with California Medicaid (Medi-Cal) protocols
