Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary draws with precision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Strictly adhere to OSHA and CLSI safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Prepare, label, and process blood specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Manage patient records and verify insurance information efficiently using EMR systems.
- Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
- Identify and troubleshoot difficult draws to minimize patient discomfort.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Technician I certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred; new grads with strong externships considered.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and venipuncture techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered bedside manner.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
