Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing, sponge counting, and hemostasis
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterile processing protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless perioperative care
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization per OSHA standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Mentor junior technologists and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in Level 1 trauma or specialty surgery
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Expertise in robotic surgery or orthopedic procedures a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/SPD)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
