Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone triage to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Provide expert medical guidance to patients and families using evidence-based protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient admissions and transfers
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Oversee bed management and resource allocation during high-volume periods
- Delicate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for emergency situations
- Mentor new triage staff and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Ohio RN license with unrestricted active status
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR systems preferred
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
