Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize patient acuity levels in emergency department settings
- Conduct comprehensive telephone triage for incoming patient calls
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems
- Provide patient education on emergency care protocols
- Monitor and track wait times for optimal department flow
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency/urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English/Spanish preferred
- Proficiency in Epic EMR systems
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends
- BSN degree preferred
