Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocol
- Prioritize patients based on acuity and allocate appropriate resources
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff for coordinated care
- Document assessments and interventions in Epic EHR systems
- Provide patient education and discharge planning for low-acuity cases
- Maintain compliance with TJC and CMS regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Minnesota (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years ED or urgent care triage experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency with ESI protocol and Epic EMR systems
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills in high-stress situations
- BSN or higher preferred
- PALS certification required within 90 days of hire
