Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-procedure to ensure patient safety
- Transport patients and provide intraoperative support in fast-paced OR settings
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with RNs and surgeons to optimize surgical workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year recent OR experience in hospital/surgical center
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
