Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for all specialty cases
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and sterile technique
- Maintain strict aseptic protocols in all perioperative environments
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage per regulatory standards
- Train and mentor junior surgical tech staff on best practices
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification with AHA
- Proven knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/AST)
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced emergency cases
- Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Experience with robotic surgical systems preferred
- Alaska state license or willingness to obtain immediately
