Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and restock surgical supplies according to hospital protocols
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and monitor vital signs
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain sterile environments
- Document procedural events accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for coordinated patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in Level 1 trauma center
- BLS certification and familiarity with OSHA/ASHE standards
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, or general surgical specialties
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional manual dexterity
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
