Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment and instruments using advanced sterilization systems
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Operate specialized surgical equipment including robotic systems and endoscopic devices
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment within the operating room
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and JCI standards for surgical safety protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize surgical workflow
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for surgical efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hospital operating room setting
- Proficiency in advanced surgical equipment (robotics, endoscopy, etc.)
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and sterilization validation
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities
- Current BLS certification and willingness to obtain additional certifications
