Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper documentation
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies to maintain surgical readiness
- Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards for safety and privacy
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- BLS certification and ability to maintain throughout employment
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and instrumentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
