Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures with precise instrument passing
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Document case details and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Collaborate with surgical team to optimize procedural efficiency
- Perform equipment troubleshooting and quality assurance checks
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent operating room experience
- Proficiency in sterile processing and equipment handling
- Knowledge of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Current BLS certification
- El Paso residency preferred
