Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and verify patient information for billing compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering medication inquiries and counseling patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation in accordance with state regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure optimal workflow and patient safety
Qualifications
- Active NYS Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy tech certification preferred
- Minimum 6 months pharmacy experience or relevant internship
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications
- Proficient in pharmacy software and basic computer applications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
