Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using advanced autoclave systems
- Assist surgeons during procedures with precision instrument passing and sterile technique maintenance
- Manage inventory of provided surgical equipment and maintain sterile field integrity
- Operate specialized equipment including endoscopic systems, robotic arms, and electrosurgical devices
- Document procedural equipment usage and sterilization logs per regulatory standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflow
- Participate in equipment training sessions to master new technologies
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Proficiency in operating advanced surgical equipment (robotics, endoscopy, etc.)
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and equipment maintenance protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency surgical scenarios
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional hand-eye coordination
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods
