Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures across diverse patient demographics
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain quality control documentation
- Provide exceptional patient education on pre-test preparation and post-procedure care
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow and turnaround times
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Train junior phlebotomists on best practices and new technologies
Qualifications
- Current Florida Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in LIS systems and specimen processing software
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling
- Willingness to rotate shifts and occasional weekends
