Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain strict sterile technique throughout all surgical procedures
- Manage surgical inventory, equipment sterilization, and supply restocking
- Document case details and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Adhere to OSHA, AORN, and facility-specific safety standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing, instrumentation, and surgical procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
- Strong communication skills and ability to function in high-pressure environments
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
