Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and other operating room personnel by preparing the operating room and equipment for procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic technique.
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during operations, anticipating their needs.
- Monitor and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Handle specimen processing and documentation accurately.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an acute care surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
