Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies during operations
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Count and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles
- Transport patients to and from surgical suites safely
- Manage sterilization and processing of surgical equipment
- Document procedural activities accurately in medical records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 1+ years of experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Indiana Surgical Technologist license preferred
