Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Clean and sterilize equipment following strict protocols
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience
- BLS/CPR certification
- Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, and trauma procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and call shifts
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- TN state license or eligibility
