Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide skilled assistance during surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
- Maintain Sterile Field: Adhere strictly to sterile techniques and aseptic procedures to prevent infection.
- Prep Operating Room: Set up surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring everything is ready before the procedure begins.
- Manage Instruments: Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety.
- Patient Care: Position patients correctly, transport them to and from the OR, and monitor vital signs during surgery.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST or CMA) preferred; candidates with relevant experience and paid training provided.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is a plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment or patients as needed.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to focus on complex tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
