Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide critical support to surgeons and other team members during operative procedures.
- Prep Operating Room: Ensure operating rooms are properly set up, sterilized, and stocked with necessary instruments and supplies prior to surgery.
- Instrument Management: Count and inspect surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Patient Care: Monitor patient vital signs and provide assistance during anesthesia administration.
- Aseptic Technique: Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and sterile field protocols to prevent infection.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information and surgical procedures as required by facility policy.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or similar credential.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- License: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.
