Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments, drapes, and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies efficiently.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate counts and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite using safe handling techniques.
- Ensure a sterile environment by adhering to strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
- Document patient care activities and maintain detailed surgical records.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience in a hospital or surgical center preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment or patients as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
