Responsibilities
- Assist in Surgical Procedures: Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during operations, anticipating their needs.
- Preparation & Sterilization: Set up operating rooms with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety before, during, and after surgery.
- Inventory Management: Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure zero loss.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures and patient care.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergency surgeries and be prepared for rapid response situations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) credential.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to follow instructions and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment as needed.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
