Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments, sutures, and supplies are sterilized and organized.
- Assist surgeons and registered nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond immediately to any changes in condition.
- Handle and inventory surgical instruments, ensuring they are clean and functional for each case.
- Transport patients safely to and from the operating suite.
- Document surgical procedures and patient information accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in compliance with hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certification eligible (CRCST preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical anatomy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
