Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to ensure accurate testing and timely results
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure operational efficiency
- Provide exceptional patient communication and support during blood draw procedures
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with nursing and lab teams to optimize patient workflow
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital or lab setting
- Valid BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen processing
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) preferred
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
