Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate accounting of surgical supplies.
- Monitor and prepare patients for surgery, including draping and positioning.
- Handle equipment and instruments correctly to prevent infection or injury.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid CPR/BLS certification preferred but not required for applicants with no experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Willingness to undergo on-the-job training and certification programs.
