Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Operate surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and retractors
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Manage sterilization processes and inventory of surgical supplies
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ST79)
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during fast-paced procedures
- Experience with orthopedic, general surgery, and trauma cases
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including on-call rotations
