Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count and track surgical supplies, sutures, and instruments pre/post-procedure
- Ensure proper sterilization and processing of reusable surgical instruments
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them safely
- Collaborate with surgical teams to anticipate equipment needs during operations
- Document procedural information accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
