Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle specimens and biological materials according to safety protocols
- Monitor inventory levels and restock surgical supplies
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
- Maintain equipment functionality through proper sterilization and storage
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesiology teams for seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred (training provided)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Commitment to completing full 12-week training program
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Valid California driver's license (for facility transport)
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including evenings and weekends
