Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
- Monitor inventory levels and restock operating rooms
- Apply sterile drapes and position patients for procedures
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain during training)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Background in healthcare or science preferred
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Commitment to completing 16-week training program
- Basic computer literacy for documentation systems
