Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical supplies, inventory, and equipment sterilization protocols
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records (remote component available)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams via virtual platforms for case planning
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and hospital safety standards
- Participate in remote training and continuing education programs
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in OR setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work independently with remote collaboration tools
- Excellent time management and adaptability in fast-paced environments
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to travel to Richmond facilities as needed for surgical rotations
