Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize equipment for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Monitor patient vitals and maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgery.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure zero loss.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room in a safe and timely manner.
- Document surgical procedures, supplies used, and patient conditions accurately.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to anticipate needs and ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical anatomy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Indiana state licensure or eligibility to obtain one.
