Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment according to protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count and document surgical instruments/sponges before/during/after procedures
- Operate sterilization equipment and manage inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification (maintain current)
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile processing
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Strong attention to detail and infection control compliance
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends/holidays
