Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the surgical team
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and maintain accurate documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesiologists for seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent operating room experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover various surgical specialties (ortho, general, neuro)
- Pass background check and drug screening
