Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring sterile environments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgeries
- Count and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before/during/after procedures
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms
- Document surgical cases accurately and maintain patient records
- Collaborate with surgical team to anticipate equipment needs during procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience
- BLS/CPR certification (AHA preferred)
- Experience in orthopedic, general, or neurosurgical procedures preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends/on-call
