Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols
- Account for surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout procedures
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Manage surgical equipment and troubleshoot technical issues
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience
- Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrument care protocols
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including on-call duties
