Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile surgical fields and equipment according to protocol
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and wound exposure
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Operate surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and robotic systems
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Document procedure details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub tech experience in general OR setting
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Experience with electronic documentation systems (EPIC preferred)
