Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment before surgery.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is left in the surgical wound.
- Monitor patient vital signs and alert the nursing staff if any changes occur.
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them correctly and preparing incision sites.
- Ensure all surgical supplies are stocked and ready for the next procedure.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
