Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to operating rooms and prepare them for procedures
- Sterilize and maintain surgical equipment per infection control protocols
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience
- Proficiency in multiple surgical specialties (general, ortho, neuro)
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and on-call
- BLS certification required
- Pass background check and drug screening
