Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure optimal workflow efficiency
- Handle specimens and equipment sterilization per protocol
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and inventory
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure patient safety and comfort
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general surgery
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ANSI)
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Must pass background check and drug screening
