Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and sterilize equipment
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and hospital safety protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general surgery
- BLS certification and current Texas license
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
